Computer Nitrox

Nitrox is a breathing gas that has a lot of benefits for both new and experienced divers. This course will cover the use of nitrox mixtures from 22-40% oxygen.

What you’ll learn

Enriched Air — Nitrox — is the most-used specialty in diving, and for good reason: by breathing a gas with more oxygen and less nitrogen than regular air, you get longer no-decompression bottom times and feel notably less tired between dives. On a multi-dive day or a liveaboard trip, the difference is huge.

The Computer Nitrox course covers the use of enriched air from **22% to 40% oxygen** with a dive computer, plus tank labeling and air analysis. It's mostly knowledge-based: 2–4 hours of SDI eLearning self-study, then a 2-hour in-person classroom session at the shop for theory review and hands-on tank analysis. **No dives are required for the certification.**

Prerequisites: Open Water certification, medically fit to dive, and 18 years old (or 10 with parental consent). Included: SDI eLearning code, the Nitrox Specialty certification card, and the skills to safely dive Nitrox at any reputable shop worldwide.
